9:30am Sunday Worship Service

During the service, children are invited to join in the Godly Play program or alternatively activity sheets and toys are available. Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month.

What to Expect

> songs which encourage,

> Bible readings,

> a message from the bible,

> time spent in prayer,

> and time afterwards to encourage each other.

During school terms, we provide a children’s program, known as “Godly Play”, led by trained leaders during part of the morning worship.  Godly Play is a Montessori method of telling Bible stories using simple materials. Godly Play can be a way of preparing children to join the worship life of their congregation as they experience sacred stories and encounter religious language associated with worship.

Through our worship time, we intentionally aim to make everyone feel welcome so that we can all enjoy being together and experience God’s grace. Mid-week many people are involved in various groups to encourage one another, learn, and become involved in our community.

Once a month Family Service Sunday 5pm

The msg@5 Family Service is held monthly at 5pm, usually the 3rd Sunday of the month. It is a fun and relaxed way of doing church for the whole family. A typical evening at msg@5 consists of 45 minutes of activities, arts and crafts, followed by a short structured time of singing and a Bible message, and then a family meal.

Our msg@5 Family service is part of the international movement known as ‘Messy Church’

All families are welcome.

WE ARE THE UNITING CHURCH

We are part of the Uniting Church in Australia.

We’re passionate about knowing Jesus and making him known.

Walkerville Uniting Church is part of the greater Uniting Church in Australia. The Uniting Church is made up of a series of inter-related councils — local churches, regional presbyteries, state synods, and the national Assembly. Each council has its distinct tasks, and each council recognises the limits of its responsibilities in relation to other councils. Read More.

The Uniting Church is a young church – formed on 22 June 1977, when the Congregational, Methodist, and Presbyterian Churches united to become one. The Basis of Union is the document which affirms our Christian faith and is the guide to what is central to the life of the Uniting Church in Australia.

MEET THE TEAM

As a congregation, we come from varied backgrounds (some rural, some city) and from various denominational roots, but with a common desire to know and appreciate God’s love more deeply, and for this to impact our daily living.

Our church complex is located near the suburbs of Vale Park, Prospect, Gilberton, Norwood, Payneham and St Peters and Adelaide, South Australia.  We seek to be strongly involved in our community with specific ministries to seniors, children and families, youth and young adults and to encourage people in developing their faith in Jesus through small groups.

Our Ministry structure is simple and effective – consisting of a church executive council, and bi-monthly meetings of the whole congregation to facilitate discussion and communication.
